We zijn in het jaar 2009 en de uitgevers van "Donald Duck" weekblad hebben het plan om een glossy "Donald" voor een volwassen punbliek te produceren. Ik schreef een volwassen scenario dat door Daan Jippes getekend zou worden. Helaas, het was veel te volwassen en het werd onmiddellijk en categorisch geweigerd. In plaats daarvan werd een ander scenario geplaatst dat ik al geschreven had voor het 57-jarig bestaan van het weekblad. (57 is trouwens mijn geluksgetal).
Omdat het lang en tamelijk ingewikkeld was werd het op de cover aangekondigd als een "literaire strip". Gelukkig voor iedereen was het ook erg leuk.
Het basisidee ervan is het feit dat de eerste uitgaven van het blad in de jaren '50 eendenverhalen in kleur hadden, maar B-verhalen, zoals de Grote Boze Wolf in grijstinten. Die oude exemplaren van het blad zijn nu gruwelijk duur, maar Donald kan er helaas geen eentje van vinden in zijn archieven, dus krijgt hij het briljante idee om terug te gaan in de tijd en het wolvenbos grijs te maken. Alle wolvenverhalen in zijn collectie zullen dan grijs zijn en hij wordt schatrijk.

The year was 2009 and the publishers of "Donald Duck" magazine planned to do a glossy "Donald" magazine for an adult public. I did a rather adult story to be rendered by Daan Jippes. Alas, it was much too adult and was immediately and categorically refused. Instead, they took another one of my stories that I had already written for the 57th anniversary of the magazine. (57 is my lucky number, by the way).
As it was long and complicated,it was announced on the cover as a "literary strip". Luckily for everybody, it was lots of fun too.
The basic idea of it is the fact that in the first issues of the magazine from the 50's the Duck stories were in color but the B-stories, like the Big Bad Wolf were printed in greys. Those old issues are horribly expensive, but Donald can't find any in his archives, so he has the bright idea to go back in time and turn the Big Bad Wolf forest into a grey forest. All his copies will have grey Wolf stories and he'll be filthy rich.
