De stad met de langste naam is... nee, niet die befaamde Llanfair­pwllgwyn­gyllgo­g... etcetera, het is Bangkok!

De complete naam van Bangkok is (haal diep adem) "Krungthepmahanakhon Amonrattanakosin Mahintharayutthaya Mahadilokphop Noppharatratchathaniburirom Udomratchaniwetmahasathan Amonphimanawatansathit Sakkathattiyawitsanukamprasit".
En het betekent:
"Stad van engelen, grote stad van onsterfelijken, indrukwekkende stad van de negen edelstenen, zetel van de koning, stad van koninklijke paleizen, woonplaats van goden in mensengedaante, opgericht door Visvakarman in opdracht van Indra.

Er zijn nog meer van zulke steden en dorpen met ellenlange namen en daar moest ik natuurlijk een keer een scenario over schrijven.

There are other villages and towns with interminable names, and of course one day I had to do a story on this phenomenon.
